Threadworms are parasites that live in the human gut. Anyone can become infected with threadworms but they are found more often in children than in adults. Infections are passed from person to person. This can occur at kindergarten, school or at home. Signs and symptoms of threadworm infestation include:The presence of tiny white threads around the anal regionItching around the anus and vaginaRestless sleep, grinding of teeth and irritability Before treating for threadworm, evidence of infestation should be present. If a household member has a worm infestation then each member should be treated.TIPS FOR SELF CAREWhen treating, have a shower at night, and again the next morning to remove eggs laid during the night. Wash well around the anus. Wash bed linen, sleepwear, underwear and towels with hot water. Wash them separately and not with the general washing.Vacuum furniture and bedrooms, and clean the toilet to remove any eggs.Wash your hands after attending to children with threadworms.Keep fingernails short and clean. Scrub fingernails to remove eggsMake sure everyone washes their hands after going to the toilet and before preparing or eating food.Discourage children from nail-biting and finger-sucking. DIRECTIONS: For children (2-12 years) and adults:To treat threadworm: One tablet, once, as a single dose. Tablets can be chewed or crushed. No body weight measurements or dosage calculations are required. Tablets should be crushed before giving to children.To treat roundworm, whipworm and hookworms: If roundworm, whipworm or hookworm are suspected, you should seek medical advice prior to treatment. PRECAUTIONS: Do not use in children under 2 years of age. If you are pregnant, seek medical advice before using this product. If symptoms persist, consult a Doctor.INGREDIENTS: Mebendazole 100mg. Vermox Choc Chews are gluten and preservative free. Store below 30 degrees celsius. Do not use the contents of pack if the foil is damaged.
