Weleda Haemorrhoidal Ointment helps relieve the pain, swelling and discomfort of external haemorrhoids(piles) and fissures.  It is a natural product which is free from synthetic fragrances, preservatives, parabens and free from petrochemical derivatives, eg. paraffins.DIRECTIONS: Adults/Children – Apply a small amount once a day in the evening, or as directed by your health care professional. Can be used more often if needed. May sting initially if used on open skin. PRECAUTIONS: Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. Weleda Haemorrhoidal Ointment is a plant-based cream used to promote rapid healing of external hemorrhoids while alleviating the pain, pressure, itching and other discomfort associated with the condition. It is similarly effective when used on insect bites or stings. The ointment contains no artificial ingredients, is safe for use in all ages, and can be used while pregnant or breastfeeding. The ointment provides rapid relief of the discomfort associated with hemorrhoids, starting within a few moments of administration. Effects generally last around 24 hours, but the medication can be applied more frequently if needed. Weleda Haemorrhoidal Ointment also protects and heals the delicate skin around the rectum. Most people notice a significant reduction in the size and discomfort of hemorrhoids just days after starting use. The condition is often completely healed within a couple weeks of daily use, though it may take longer depending on a number of factors. Administration For hemorrhoids, Weleda Haemorrhoidal Ointment is typically applied once per day in the evening, but it can be applied as often as needed if once per day is not sufficient to manage symptoms. Treatment can continue for as long as desired. The ointment should be gently rubbed over the affected area. It may sting or burn briefly during application, particularly if there is any broken skin present, but this sensation lasts only a few seconds and is quickly followed by relief. For insect bites or stings the ointment should be applied as-needed for relief of pain, itching or swelling. Warnings & Side Effects There are no known side effects associated with Weleda Haemorrhoidal Ointment other than a very small risk of allergic reaction in some individuals. As a topical ointment, allergic reactions are likely to be localized to the application site. Symptoms included worsening of the condition, pain, itching and rash, hives or blisters. If this occurs wash the cream off immediately and discontinue use. Seek medical attention if symptoms are severe. The ointment can cause discoloration of underwear or other material it comes in direct contact with. This discoloration can be completely removed when the material is washed. Utilizing panty-liners or similar products will help prevent discoloration if this is a concern. Do not use Weleda Haemorrhoidal Ointment on large wounds, burns or infected skin. It should not be used internally. Do not mix with other medicated ointments used in the same area; use of multiple topical treatments may interfere with absorption of active ingredients and reduce effectiveness. The ointment will not interact with medications taken orally.
