Description
Deficiency Signs and Symptoms; Marginal zinc deficiency may be reflected by an increased susceptibility to infection, poor wound healing, decreased sense of taste or smell, and a number of minor skin disorders including acne, eczema and psoriasis. Some other physical findings that often correlate with low zinc status include decreased ability to see at night or with poor lighting, growth retardation, a reduction in testes size, mouth ulcers, a white coating on the tongue and marked halitosis (bad breath). Eating disorders are also associated with low zinc status. White spots on the fingernails may also reflect the zinc status, correlating to por wound healing as a result of zinc deficiency.Oral Solution: Active Ingredients in 5 drops: Zinc (as zinc sulphate) 5mg.Recommended Adult Dose: Take 5 drops in fluid once daily or as directed. Note: Zinc competes with copper for absorption. Other minerals (most notably calcium and iron) can adversely affect zinc absorption if supplemented at high dosage. If you are taking high dosages of other individual minerals defer zinc supplementation to a different time of day. Zinc is regarded safe to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding under the supervision of a health professional.Precautions: Do not exceed 100mg of elemental zinc daily long-term as this may lead to iron-deficiency and immune suppression.
