Cartia helps protect you from some of the problems that can be caused by clotting in the blood stream. The enteric coating on Cartia tablets prevents the aspirin from being released in your stomach where it could cause gastric upsets. The aspirin is released lower down in the intestines, where it is absorbed gradually in the blood stream. Cartia helps prevent blood clotting and reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.DIRECTIONS: Adults, Take one tablet at the same time each day with a glass of water.CAUTIONS: DO NOT break, crush or chew the tablet – see insert for more details.For use under medical supervision only.Unless a doctor has told you to, do not use this product in children under 12 years of age or teenagers with chickenpox, influenza or fever.Unless a doctor has told you to do not use this if you have asthma.Do not use this product if you have a stomach ulcer, or are allergic to aspirin or anti-inflammatory medicines. If you get an allergic reaction stop taking and see your doctor immediately.Do not use with other medicines containing aspirin or other anti-inflammatory medicines that you are taking regularly unless advised to do so by a doctor or pharmacist.Do not use this product during the first 6 months of pregnancy, except on doctor's advice.
